Program/Service Definitions
Personal Care Personal care is the provision of in-home assistance with activities of daily living (ADL) for an individual including assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, transferring, eating, and ambulating. Personal care does not include health-oriented services as specified for Home Health Aide Services. Personal care is provided under the supervision of professionally qualified staff. Each worker must be trained for the tasks they perform. The supervisor must approve tasks to be performed by each worker.
ADL includes personal hygiene and grooming, meal preparation and kitchen safety, homemaking and leisure pursuits.
