Program/Service Definitions
Elder Abuse Prevention Elder abuse programs provide public education, outreach and referral services with respect to prevention of abuse, neglect and exploitation of older adults. Each program collaborates with the Department of Human Services and appropriate law enforcement agencies operating in the service area in order to refer complaints and other reports of abuse, neglect and exploitation. In addition, elder abuse prevention programs are linked with Legal Assistance services in the area as well as the Long Term Care Ombudsman.
